 MODERNIZATION PROJECT

Terrell Materials played a major role in the O’Hare Modernization Program, manufacturing and supplying hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of Portland Cement Concrete and Roller Compacted Concrete for multiple runway and taxiway construction packages. Our scope of work included the 9C North East Runway, 10C-28C East and West Runways, Taxiway CJ, and the relocation of Irving Park Road.

Working alongside leading general contractors and under the oversight of the Federal Aviation Administration, Terrell Materials provided consistent, high-quality airfield concrete that met the demanding specifications required for one of the world’s busiest airports. From portable batch plant operations to on-site material crushing and sustainable reuse efforts, our team demonstrated exceptional coordination, safety, and efficiency—averaging thousands of cubic yards produced per shift with minimal rejections.

Through dependable performance, strict attention to detail, and seamless collaboration, Terrell Materials helped deliver several key phases of O’Hare’s modernization safely, on budget, and without incident—cementing our reputation as a trusted partner in large-scale infrastructure and aviation projects.

 ELLINGTON PROJECT

The Ellington Project showcases Terrell Materials Corporation’s expertise in large-scale infrastructure development through its partnership with Texas Sterling–Banicki JV on the Houston Airport System’s Taxiway Lima expansion. TMC is responsible for the mobilization phase, ensuring the site is fully prepared for high-volume concrete production. This includes mix design finalization, foundation design, plant acquisition, permitting, and material procurement to support efficient and compliant operations. By managing every step of the early setup process, TMC guarantees seamless coordination between design and construction, helping deliver critical airfield improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and long-term performance at Ellington Airport. The project reflects TMC’s commitment to quality, innovation, and reliability in aviation infrastructure.

TERMINAL C PHASE 1X

Terrell Materials Corporation is serving as a specialized concrete subcontractor under Prince Contracting, LLC on the Orlando International Airport Terminal C Phase 1X Airfield and Taxiway Paving Project.

As part of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority’s major expansion of Terminal C, TMC’s responsibilities include mobilizing and operating a dedicated concrete batch plant, producing FAA-certified concrete mixes, and delivering precision paving materials that form the structural base and surface of the airport’s new taxiways and apron areas.

Through expert mix design, advanced batching operations, and strict quality control, Terrell Materials ensures durable, high-performance concrete for one of Florida’s largest aviation infrastructure initiatives—strengthening the foundation of future air travel at Orlando International Airport.

Terrell Materials Corporation was hired by Walsh Construction to support the Milwaukee Zoo Interchange Reconstruction Project, one of Wisconsin’s largest transportation undertakings. Serving as a specialized concrete supplier and subcontractor, TMC provided high-performance concrete and aggregates for bridge decks, pavement, and structural components essential to rebuilding the state’s busiest interchange. Their work helped enhance safety, durability, and traffic flow across this vital regional corridor.

CTA RED LINE

Terrell Materials Corporation was hired as a subcontractor for the CTA Red Line South Reconstruction Project, one of Chicago’s largest transit infrastructure improvements. TMC was responsible for removal and reinstatement of drainage and duct bank systems, ensuring proper utility support beneath the rail structure. Their work provided a stable foundation for the newly rebuilt track, power, and signal systems along the Red Line’s Dan Ryan branch. By supplying high-quality concrete and executing precise underground restoration, TMC helped modernize one of the city’s most vital commuter routes, improving efficiency, durability, and safety for thousands of daily riders.

DAN RYAN INTERCHANGE

Terrell Materials Corporation was hired by Walsh Construction to support the Dan Ryan Interchange Reconstruction Project, a major component of the modernization of Chicago’s busiest expressway system. TMC played a crucial role in concrete recycling and base material supply, processing and reusing approximately three-quarters of a million tons of concrete generated during demolition. By providing recycled aggregates and high-quality base materials, TMC helped reduce environmental impact, control project costs, and ensure a stable foundation for new pavement and structural work. Their contribution supported Walsh Construction’s efforts to enhance safety, improve traffic flow, and extend the life of the Dan Ryan Expressway — a critical transportation corridor serving Chicago and surrounding communities.
