Founded by former NFL player and commercial airline pilot Pat Terrell, Terrell Materials Corporation was built on discipline, vision, and a lifelong passion for construction. Pat earned a football scholarship to University of Notre Dame under legendary coach Lou Holtz before going on to play 10 seasons in the NFL as a standout free safety.

Long before founding the company, Pat developed hands-on experience in the construction industry while apprenticing at his father’s petroleum supply business and his uncle’s concrete company. During NFL off-seasons, he continued working in construction, gaining valuable field experience that would later shape his entrepreneurial vision.

Following his retirement from professional football, Pat spent five years as an international airline pilot for ATA Airlines while developing the business plan for what would become Terrell Materials Corporation.

Founded in 2005, Terrell Materials specializes in heavy civil construction and was built on a foundation of dependable service, experienced personnel, and quality equipment. Headquartered in Westmont, the company is DBE-certified in nine states and has grown into one of the leading DBE concrete manufacturers in the Midwest.

Over the past two decades, Terrell Materials has produced millions of cubic yards of concrete products and contributed to a wide range of civil, commercial, industrial, and real estate developments across the country. With its own fleet of portable batch plants, the company has become a recognized leader in Portland Cement Concrete production throughout Illinois.

Since its inception, Terrell Materials has played a critical role in some of the nation’s largest public works projects, including the Runway 10C-28C expansion at O'Hare International Airport.

Continuing its commitment to innovation and growth, Terrell Materials recently expanded into precast manufacturing with the launch of a state-of-the-art, NPCA-certified facility in Crystal Lake. The plant currently manufactures electrical and drainage structures supporting ongoing modernization projects at O’Hare International Airport.
